The Chundakunnu Sree Mahalekshmi Bhadrakali Temple is an ancient temple which was built centuries ago. The main deity of the temple is Goddess Bhadrakali and Goddess Mahalekshmi. Lord Ganapathi, Lord Ayyappan, Goddess Malkkari, Family God, Gulikan and the Serpent God are the sub deities of the temple. The Annual festival at Chundakunnu Sree Mahalekshmi Bhadrakali Temple is conducted to celebrate the divine presence of the Goddesses in the temple.

Annual Festival Chundakunnu Mahalakshmi Bhadrakali Temple Wayanad Kerala The festival starts with Kodiyettu which is the ritualistic temple flag hoisting ceremony. Temple arts are performed during the festival days. Arangettam (debut staging of music and dance) of small children are also held during the festival. Music and dance programs, spiritual discourses, etc are conducted. On the third day, during the morning,Pongala, a special offering of sweets by female devotees to the Goddesses, is held which is followed by a beautiful procession. Procession starts from the temple, goes around the town and comes back. On the fourth day there is holy bath of the deity known as Arattu which is followed by a special event Sapthaham.
