The Prathista Varshikam 2026 at Edanjummoola Rektha Chamundi Devi Temple in Trivandrum is a highly anticipated annual celebration that draws devotees from across Kerala and beyond. This festival marks the anniversary of the consecration of the deity honoring the divine presence of Goddess Raktha Chamundi, the fierce and protective form of the Mother Goddess. The festival begins early in the morning with the Nadathurakkal followed by a series of sacred homams including the Ganapathi Homam, Mrityunjaya Homam, and Sudarshana Homam. Each of these rituals is performed with precise Vedic procedures aiming to invoke divine energy and remove obstacles from the lives of the devotees. Special poojas are also offered to the Upadevas ensuring holistic spiritual observance.

A unique highlight of the festival is the Bhaktigana performance, a devotional musical offering that uplifts the spiritual atmosphere of the temple. The temple’s musical program, directed and composed by local artist Rajesh Rajamani features songs praising the Goddess creating an immersive devotional experience for attendees.
