The annual celebrations at Sree Valiyaveedu Devi Temple Trust, located at Devipuram, Kariyam in Thiruvananthapuram district are deeply rooted in tradition, devotion and community harmony.
Among the most spiritually significant observances at this revered temple are the Makaravilakku Kanji Sadya and the grand Utsava Mahamaham both of which draw a large number of devotees every year.
The Makaravilakku Kanji Sadya, conducted in connection with the auspicious Makaravilakku period reflects the temple’s strong emphasis on seva and annadanam. Kanji Sadya, a simple yet sacred offering symbolizes equality, humility and collective devotion.
Devotees from nearby areas and distant places gather at the temple to participate in this offering, seeking the blessings of the presiding deity, Sree Valiyaveedu Devi.
