തിരുവനന്തപുരം കരിക്കകം ശ്രീ ചാമുണ്ഡി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉത്സവമഹാമഹം 2026 മാർച്ച് 24 മുതൽ 30 വരെ നടക്കും. ഇതോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് പുറത്തെഴുന്നള്ളത്ത് മാർച്ച് 28, 29 തീയതികളിൽയും വിശിഷ്ടമായ പൊങ്കാല മാർച്ച് 30 തിങ്കളാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 10:15 ന്യും നടക്കും.

Utsavamahamaham at the Karikkakom Sree Chamundi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is one of the most revered annual temple festivals dedicated to Goddess Chamundi, locally worshipped as Karikkakathamma. This grand celebration reflects the deep spiritual traditions, devotion and cultural heritage of Kerala.
Devotees from different parts of the region gather at the temple during the festival to seek the blessings of the powerful mother goddess who is believed to protect her devotees and remove obstacles from their lives.
The festival is marked by a series of sacred rituals, traditional ceremonies and vibrant temple activities conducted according to age old customs. The temple premises become spiritually vibrant as priests perform special poojas, offerings and devotional rituals dedicated to the goddess. Devotional chants, lamps and the fragrance of incense create a sacred atmosphere that fills the entire temple surroundings.
One of the most significant highlights of the festival is the Purathezhunnallathu, the ceremonial procession of the deity. During this ritual, the idol of the goddess is taken out of the temple in a grand procession accompanied by traditional temple percussion, rhythmic drum beats and devotional music. Devotees gather along the procession route to witness the divine spectacle and offer prayers with deep devotion.
Another important part of the celebration is the sacred Pongala, a traditional offering made by women devotees to the goddess. During this ritual, thousands of devotees prepare sweet rice offerings in earthen pots as a symbol of gratitude and devotion. The Pongala ritual represents faith, unity and the spiritual connection between the devotees and the divine mother.
