The Thrikodiyettu Mahotsavam 2026 at Thittamangalam Sree Mahavishnu Temple in Trivandrum is a vibrant six-day festival that brings together devotees, artists and the local community in a celebration of spirituality, devotion and traditional culture. The festival begins on January 26, 2026 with the ceremonial flag hoisting marking the start of elaborate rituals and cultural programs that continue until January 31, 2026. Each day of the festival is carefully planned with a combination of sacred ceremonies, devotional music, classical dance performances and community offerings. The daily schedule begins early in the morning with Nirmalyadarshanam followed by Harinama Keerthanam, Deeparadhana and Ashtadravya Maha Ganapathi Homam, where devotees perform sacred offerings to Lord Ganesha. These rituals are accompanied by Kalashapooja, Navakarma and Panchagavya Abhishekam emphasizing purification and blessings for the community. Midday worship includes Uchappooja and Annadanam, where devotees receive prasadam and partake in the spirit of giving.

Evenings are marked by Panchavadyam, a traditional temple orchestra along with Bhagavatiseva, Sree Bhoothabali and other ritualistic offerings. The festival also features cultural performances on the Kalavedhi including classical dances, Thiruvathira, bhajan sessions and music concerts by local and regional artists. The highlight of the festival is the Thiruvaarattu procession where the deity is taken on a ceremonial procession through the surrounding areas returning to the temple with grandeur followed by the lowering of the festival flag marking the conclusion of the celebrations. The festival serves as an opportunity for devotees to immerse themselves in spiritual devotion while witnessing Kerala’s rich artistic traditions. It also strengthens community bonds as families and local organizations actively participate in offerings, rituals and performances.
