തിരുവരാട്ട് 2026 മലയിൻകീഴ് ശ്രീ കൃഷ്ണ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം തിരുവനന്തപുരം | Thiruarattu 2026 Malayinkeezhu Sree Krishna Swami Temple Trivandrum
Thiruarattu 2026 at Malayinkeezhu Sree Krishna Swami Temple is one of the most significant annual religious events in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, attracting thousands of devotees from across the state and beyond. The festival spans over a week combining deep spiritual rituals with vibrant cultural celebrations.
The sacred occasion is held to honor Lord Krishna in his form as Shri Vallabha Perumal along with Rugminee Devi and is considered highly auspicious for devotees seeking blessings, prosperity and spiritual solace.
The festival begins with the traditional Thrikkodiyettu or flag hoisting ceremony which marks the official start of the celebrations. From the first day, the temple comes alive with melodious devotional music, elaborate poojas and homams including the Ashtadravya Maha Ganapathi Homam and the Kalashabhishekam performed by highly trained priests following age old rituals.
Devotees participate in Palliyunarthal, the ceremonial awakening of the deity as well as various offerings and special poojas creating an atmosphere of devotion and reverence.
Throughout the festival, there are daily processions including Utsavabali, Sree Bhoothabali and the grand Thiruvabharana procession showcasing the rich traditions of Kerala temple art. Cultural programs are held in the evenings featuring Thiruvathira Kolkali, Kaikottikali, Ottanthullal, Panchajanyam and Bhaktigana Nruthanjali, blending classical music, traditional dance and devotional performances. These programs highlight the region’s vibrant performing arts and provide devotees with a spiritually uplifting experience alongside entertainment.
The festival culminates with the Aarattu, a ceremonial holy bath of the deity in the temple tank accompanied by traditional drumming, Panchavadyam and fireworks. The event also includes a grand return procession to the temple and special offerings such as Nirapara and Thattapooja symbolizing divine blessings and protection for the devotees. During this time, the temple precincts are decorated beautifully and strict festival guidelines ensure a peaceful and devotional environment.
