ശഷ്തി വ്രതം 2026 കുന്നുംപറ ശ്രീ മുരുകൻ ക്ഷേത്രം തിരുവനന്തപുരം | Shasti Viratham 2026 Kunnumpara Sree Murugan Temple Trivandrum
Shasti Viratham is one of the most sacred and widely observed festivals dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya and the Kunnumpara Sree Murugan Temple in Trivandrum is renowned for its vibrant celebrations during this period. The festival typically spans six days, culminating on the auspicious Shasti day which is considered highly favorable for worshipping Lord Murugan.
Devotees from across Kerala and neighboring regions visit the temple to participate in the spiritual activities and seek blessings for prosperity, courage and protection from negative influences.
During Shasti Viratham, the temple organizes a series of special poojas and abhishekams for Lord Murugan. These rituals are conducted with utmost devotion and the priests chant powerful Vedic mantras to invoke the divine presence of the deity. Devotional offerings including milk, sandal paste, fruits and flowers are made to the deity as part of the abhishekam and alankaram ceremonies. Many devotees observe strict fasting and perform personal penance believing that it enhances the spiritual merit of their prayers and earns the grace of Lord Murugan.
The festival also includes ceremonial processions where the idol of Lord Subrahmanya is beautifully decorated and carried around the temple premises amid the resonating sounds of traditional drums and devotional music. Special bhajan and keerthanam sessions are organized allowing devotees to sing praises and express their devotion collectively.
