The Prathishta Varshikam and Pongala Mahotsavam 2026 at Pothencode Sree Panimoola Devi Temple Trust, Trivandrum is a sacred annual celebration that reflects the deep spiritual heritage, devotion and cultural traditions of the region. Prathishta Varshikam & Pongala Mahotsavam 2026 Pothencode Sree Panimoola Devi Temple Trust Trivandrum Kerala Observed with great reverence, this festival marks the consecration anniversary of the presiding deity, Panimoola Devi, and brings together devotees from across Trivandrum and neighboring areas to seek divine blessings for prosperity, health, and harmony. Spread over three spiritually significant days in February, the festival is marked by elaborate temple rituals performed according to traditional tantric and Vedic customs. Special poojas such as Maha Ganapathi Homam, Ashtadravya offerings, Laksharchana, Usha Pooja, Deeparadhana, Kalashabhishekam and Ucha Pooja form the core of the religious observances. These rituals are conducted with strict adherence to temple traditions creating an atmosphere of sanctity and devotion throughout the festival period.

A major highlight of the celebration is the Pongala ritual one of the most important offerings dedicated to the Goddess. Devotees especially women gather in large numbers to prepare Pongala as an act of surrender, faith and gratitude praying for the removal of hardships and the fulfillment of wishes. The community Pongala reflects unity, devotion and the collective spiritual energy of the devotees. Annadanam or free community feast is also organized as part of the festival symbolizing compassion, equality and service. In addition to the religious ceremonies, the festival features a rich array of cultural programs held at the temple premises. Traditional art forms, devotional music, dance performances, villupattu, bhajans, drama and folk arts are presented by renowned artists and local cultural groups offering a platform to preserve and promote Kerala’s artistic heritage.
