Panguni Utsavam 2026 at Sree Adi Kesava Perumal Temple in Thiruvattar, near Kanyakumari is one of the most anticipated temple festivals in the region attracting devotees from Kerala and neighboring states. Celebrated during the Malayalam month of Panguni, this annual festival is dedicated to Lord Adi Kesava Perumal and showcases the rich traditions, rituals and cultural heritage of Kerala temples.
The festival spans over ten days beginning with Thrikodiyettu, the ceremonial flag hoisting that marks the official start of the festivities. This is followed by a series of religious rituals, poojas and cultural programs that are performed each day. One of the highlights of the festival is Pallivetta, a symbolic royal hunting ceremony that represents the Lord’s victory over evil forces and is performed with grandeur on the penultimate day.
