Meenapunartha Mahotsavam at Varuvilakam Devi Temple is a grand celebration that embodies devotion, tradition and spiritual energy making it one of the most significant temple festivals in Trivandrum.
Guided by the principles of Sanatana Dharma, the festival highlights the timeless importance of temple worship as a supreme path for attaining divine grace. The temple itself is not merely a physical structure, it is a sacred space where devotees from all castes and communities come together to offer prayers, participate in rituals and seek the blessings of Goddess Varuvilakathamma, transcending social distinctions.
The festival is marked by a series of meticulously performed rituals under the supervision of the temple Thantri. These rituals including abhishekam, homams, kalashabhishekam and special poojas infuse the deity with divine energy ensuring that every devotee who visits experiences the spiritual vibrations of the temple. Any lapse in ritual observance over time is carefully restored through these sacred ceremonies making the deity fully energized and auspicious. The divine energy emanating from these rituals envelops the temple and its surroundings creating an atmosphere of reverence, devotion and spiritual upliftment.
