Meena Bharani Mahotsavam at Kundamanbhagam Devi Temple, Trivandrum is one of the most spiritually vibrant and culturally rich annual celebrations dedicated to Goddess Devi.
This sacred festival is observed with deep devotion drawing large numbers of devotees from Trivandrum and nearby regions to seek the blessings of the Divine Mother.
The festival is marked by a series of traditional temple rituals performed strictly according to Kerala Tantric customs. The celebrations usually begin with ceremonial flag hoisting (Kodiyettam), symbolizing the commencement of the auspicious days. Each day of the Mahotsavam includes special poojas, Ganapathi Homam, Usha Pooja, Ucha Pooja, Deeparadhana and other sacred offerings performed by experienced thantris and priests. The temple premises resonate with devotional chants, sacred hymns and the rhythmic sounds of traditional temple instruments.
A major highlight of the festival is the Bharani day observance considered highly auspicious for Goddess Devi worship.
