തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ പാങ്ങോട് കാവിൽ ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ കൊട മഹോത്സവം മാർച്ച്-ഏപ്രിൽ (മീനം) മാസങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന അഞ്ച് ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവമാണ്. ചടുലമായ ആചാരങ്ങൾ, സാംസ്കാരിക പരിപാടികൾ, പരമ്പരാഗത ചടങ്ങുകൾ എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിക്കാൻ ധാരാളം ഭക്തർ ഒത്തുകൂടുന്നു, ഭഗവതിയുടെ ദിവ്യാനുഗ്രഹം തേടുന്നു. പ്രത്യേക പൂജകൾ, ഘോഷയാത്രകൾ, ഉത്സവ പ്രൗഢി എന്നിവയാൽ ഈ ഉത്സവത്തെ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു, ഇത് മേഖലയിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ആത്മീയ സംഭവമാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നു.

Pangode Kavil Sree Bhagavathy Kshethram is a famous shrine located in Thiruvananthapuram district. The presiding deity of the temple is Kavil Bhagavathy. Sub deities of
this temple are Potti Thampuran,Ganapati,Yakshi Amma, Madan Thampuran, Nagara avu, Nagayakshi, Karinkalt, Maruda, Mantramoorthi, Yogeeshwaran, Ammayappan. The main attraction at the temple is the gigantic Shivling (Ammayappan), standing in the middle of a grove. Devotees are allowed to perform abhishek directly on the shivling, which is a rare feature in the temples of Kerala. The big and small trees growing in the premise of the temple is a gift of the nature and resembles that of a small jungle (Kavu). Pangode Kavil Sree Bhagavathy Kshethram also boasts one of the tallest gopurams, compared to other temples in the state. The annual festival is celebrated during Malayalam month Meenam (March - April), which is one of the largest crowds pulling event at Pangode.

Annual festival of this festival starts in the Malayalam month of Meenam (March/April). The shrine is traditionally decorated with plantain, coconut leaves, lamps and lights. flowers, leaves, traditional There are special poojas and offerings during the festival period. Traditional performing arts and music and dance are staged during this period. Numerous cultural programs and temple arts are performed on all days of the festival. There are lot of cultural events and religious discourses. On the final day there is Pongala, which is a ritual where thousands of women participants offer a porridge made of rice, sweet brown molasses, coconut gratings, nuts and raisins. Rice, coconut and jaggery along with round earthen pots are brought by women devotees for cooking. The Chief Priest lights the main hearth from the divine fire inside the sanctum sanctorum. This fire is exchanged from one to the other. And also kavadi is there on the final day which is one of the largest crowds pulling event at Pangode.
