2025-ലെ തിരുവാഥിര മഹോത്സവം മഹാദേവേശ്വരം ക്ഷേത്രം, കിലിമാനൂര്‍, തിരുവനന്തപുരം എന്നിടത്ത് ദാനു മാസത്തിൽ (ഡിസംബർ/ജനുവരി) ആറ് ദിവസത്തോളം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.

This temple is one of the ancient and famous temples in Trivandrum district. Devotees believe that Mahadeveshwaram Mahadeva (Lord Shiva) is the protector of this land. Annual festival of this temple takes place in Malayalam month dhanu. Annual festival is conducted in order to increase the vigor of the deity.
Thiruvathira Mahotsavam Mahadeveshwaram Temple Kilimanoor Trivandrum Kerala Annual festival falls in the Malayalam month of dhanu (December/January). It is a 6 days spectacular event. There is a flag hoisting ceremony marking the beginning of the festival. The shrine is traditionally decorated with plantain, coconut leaves, flowers, leaves, traditional lamps and lights.

There are special poojas and offerings during the festival period. Also annadanam is held on all days. Traditional performing arts and music and dance are staged during the festival period. Thousands of devotees throng to witness the events and rituals. Numerous cultural programs and temple arts are performed on all days of the festival. Caparisoned elephants, melam, fireworks and sheevali are part of the festival. There are lot of cultural events and religious discourses. On the final day Arattu(holy bath) takes place, The utsava murti of the deity is taken out of the shrine for ritual bathing on the final day.
