Chemmallikkonam Sri Bhadrakali Siva Temple in Trivandrum is all set to host the Shivarathri & Karthika Mahotsavam 2026, one of the most anticipated religious events in the region. This festival is a vibrant celebration of devotion, culture and tradition drawing thousands of devotees from Trivandrum and neighboring areas.
Over ten days, the temple will be transformed into a hub of spiritual energy adorned with traditional decorations, floral arrangements and sacred lights, creating an atmosphere of divine reverence.
During the festival, special poojas and rituals will be conducted daily offering devotees an opportunity to seek the blessings of Goddess Bhadrakali and Lord Shiva. The highlight of the festivities includes the Kalamezhuthu Pooja, an intricate floor art ritual depicting the deity followed by Arattu and other ceremonial processions that symbolize purification and spiritual prosperity. Devotees actively participate in these rituals, engaging in chanting, prayers and offerings to invoke divine grace.
In addition to religious activities, the Mahotsavam will feature a series of cultural programs, including classical music and dance performances, traditional Kerala art forms and devotional songs that celebrate the rich heritage of the region. The evenings are especially lively with vibrant processions accompanied by traditional instruments drawing large gatherings of devotees and visitors alike.
