Sri Karimankulam Devi Kshetram, located in Trivandrum, Kerala, is renowned for its vibrant and spiritually uplifting annual festival known as the Prathishta Varshikam & Thrikkodiyet Mahotsavam. This festival marks the sacred anniversary of the installation of the deity in the temple and draws devotees from across the region to participate in a series of elaborate rituals, traditional art forms and devotional activities. The festival serves as a powerful spiritual event, offering devotees the opportunity to witness age old traditions and express their devotion through prayers, offerings and cultural participation. The celebrations begin with the Palliyunarthal, or ceremonial opening of the temple, followed by Nirmalya Darshan where devotees receive blessings and view the sacred remnants from previous rituals. One of the most important rituals during the festival is the Ashtabhishekam, a sacred bathing of the deity with eight auspicious substances, which is often accompanied by the Mahaganapathi Homam, a fire ritual invoking Lord Ganesha for the removal of obstacles and blessings of prosperity.

A highlight of the festival is the Thottampattu, a traditional ritual song and dance dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, depicting ancient stories of valor and divine intervention.
