കാളിയൂട്ട് മഹോത്സവം 2026 പ്ലാത്തറത്തല ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം തിരുവനന്തപുരം | Kaliyoottu Mahotsavam 2026 Platharathala Sree Bhadrakali Devi Temple Trivandrum
Kaliyoottu Mahotsavam is one of the most revered and powerful annual festivals celebrated at Platharathala Sree Bhadrakali Devi Temple in Trivandrum, drawing devotees from across the region with deep faith and devotion.
This sacred festival is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali worshipped here as the supreme protector and the presiding deity of the land.
The temple and its surroundings transform into a vibrant spiritual centre during the days of the festival resonating with traditional rituals, devotional music and collective prayer.
The celebrations begin with preparatory rites and ceremonial offerings that invoke divine blessings and remove obstacles. Each day of the festival follows a structured schedule of poojas and homams, conducted strictly according to age-old temple customs. Early morning rituals such as Palliyunarthal and Nirmalya Darshanam allow devotees to begin the day in a serene spiritual atmosphere while Maha Ganapathi Homam is performed to ensure the smooth and auspicious conduct of the festivities.
One of the most significant aspects of the festival is Kuthiyottam a powerful ritual symbolising devotion, sacrifice and surrender to the Goddess. Kalamkaval, Alankara Deeparadhana and traditional processions add grandeur and divine energy to the evenings. Devotional art forms such as Malappuram Paattu which describes the divine wedding of the Goddess enrich the festival with spiritual storytelling rooted in tradition.
Pongala is another major highlight, where thousands of devotees prepare sacred offerings as an expression of gratitude and prayer creating an atmosphere of collective devotion. The festival reaches its spiritual culmination with Guruthi and the sacred Aarattu procession symbolising purification and divine blessing.
Kaliyoottu Mahotsavam is not merely a ritual event but a deeply rooted cultural and spiritual experience that strengthens faith, preserves heritage and unites devotees in the powerful presence of Goddess Bhadrakali.
