The Kaliyoot Mahotsavam at Phanamukhat Shri Bhadrakali Temple in Keezharoor, Trivandrum is one of the most significant and vibrant temple festivals in Kerala. Celebrated annually, this seven day festival draws devotees from across the region to witness a rich blend of devotion, tradition and cultural artistry. The festival begins with the ceremonial Kodiyettam symbolizing the official commencement of the festivities. Each day of the Mahotsavam is marked by a series of spiritual rituals including Ganapathi Homa, special poojas and offerings to the deity, which are performed under the guidance of the temple priests. Devotees actively participate in these rituals offering Pongala and other sacred offerings, seeking blessings, protection and prosperity.
