Thiruvutsavam at Kadakkavoor Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple is one of the most vibrant and culturally rich temple festivals in the Trivandrum region. Nestled in the serene village of Kadakkavoor, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya Swami revered by devotees for his power to grant prosperity, protection and spiritual blessings.
The festival is deeply rooted in tradition and has been celebrated for centuries drawing devotees from across Kerala and beyond.
The celebration spans multiple days, each filled with a variety of religious and cultural events that showcase the region’s heritage. Devotees participate in elaborate rituals including special poojas, abhishekams and offerings seeking the blessings of the deity. The temple is beautifully decorated with lights, flowers and traditional motifs creating an atmosphere of devotion and festivity.
One of the highlights of the festival is the performance of traditional folk dances such as Kaikottikali, Thiruvathirakali and other local art forms which are performed by talented artists and enthusiastic devotees alike.
