The first festival typically takes place in the first week of June. Rituals such as Sarppa Bali, Aaslesha Bali, Naga Mandala Pooja, Nagar Oottu, Abhishekams, and Homas are performed. These culminate in the Kalamezhuthu and Sarppam Pattu ceremonies on the seventh day. Devotees leave with the spiritual fulfillment of having witnessed the divine presence of the serpent gods (Nagadarshana).

Sarppa Bali
Sarppa Bali is a ritual performed according to Dravida Achara traditions. It is especially recommended for those facing problems related to marriage, infertility, child health issues, skin diseases, or those affected by Kalasarppa Dosha an astrological condition caused by the unfavorable positioning of Rahu and Kethu.
Special Features of Sarppa Bali
Sarppa Bali is performed on a large square diagram drawn on the floor, divided into 64 smaller segments. The ritual involves significant offerings (Havissu), often amounting to three large traditional measures. Participants of this sacred ritual are required to observe strict penance for seven days leading up to the pooja. A central aspect of Sarppa Bali is Naagar Oottu, where Noorum Palum a mixture of turmeric and milk is offered to Anantha, the Serpent God. Rituals such as Sarppa Bali, Aaslesha Bali, and Naga Mandala Pooja are considered highly effective in resolving obstacles related to marriage and childbearing, and in alleviating serpent-related doshas.
