The Dikkubali Mahotsavam is one of the most revered and vibrant festivals celebrated at the Sree Bhadrakali Temple Trust in Trivandrum.
Scheduled from 22 March to 9 April 2026, this festival is a divine offering to Goddess Bhadrakali, attracting devotees from across Kerala and beyond. The festival spans several days filled with a combination of spiritual rituals, ceremonial poojas and cultural programs that reflect the rich heritage of Kerala’s temple traditions.
During the festival, the temple conducts a series of Utsava Poojas where priests perform intricate rituals to invoke the blessings of the Goddess. Devotees can participate in Ganapathi Homam and Mrityunjaya Homam which are believed to remove obstacles, ensure prosperity and protect devotees from negative influences. Ucha Bali, a midday offering to the deity is performed with deep devotion and is considered highly auspicious. The festival also features Pushpabhishekam a ritual where the deity is decorated with flowers symbolizing purity and devotion.
A key aspect of the festival is Annadanam, the offering of free meals to devotees which highlights the temple’s commitment to community service and charity. Alongside the religious rituals, the festival showcases vibrant cultural programs including traditional music, dance performances and art forms that celebrate Kerala’s cultural heritage.
