Alongside the Pratishta Varshikam, the Atham Thirunal, a significant day in the Malayalam calendar is observed with elaborate rituals, poojas and cultural events that attract devotees from all over the district and beyond.

The festival features a series of sacred rituals including the Ashtadravya Maha Ganapathi Homam, Navakam Pooja, Panchagavya Abhishekam and Uchapooja designed to invoke the divine energy of Lord Ganesha for prosperity, health and the removal of obstacles. Special offerings like Sarppabali, Pongala and community Kanji Sadya are also conducted allowing devotees to actively participate in the spiritual ceremonies. Each ritual is performed under the guidance of experienced temple priests ensuring adherence to traditional customs and Vedic principles. Cultural programs form an essential part of the Mahotsavam including Thiruvathirakali, Kaikottikkali, folk dramas and traditional music and dance performances showcasing the rich heritage and art forms of Kerala. The evening celebrations feature deepa aradhana and processions with traditional instruments like chenda melam, muthukkuṭ and thalappoli creating a spiritually uplifting and visually spectacular experience.
