The 5th Pratishta Varshikam & Atham Thirunal Mahotsavam at Kayattukonam Sree Mahaganapathi Temple, Trivandrum, is one of the most auspicious and vibrant temple celebrations in Kerala dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and bestower of prosperity. This grand festival marks the fifth anniversary of the consecration (Pratishta) of the temple celebrating the divine presence and blessings of Lord Mahaganapathi. Alongside the Pratishta Varshikam, the Atham Thirunal, a significant day in the Malayalam calendar is observed with elaborate rituals, poojas and cultural events that attract devotees from all over the district and beyond.

The festival features a series of sacred rituals including the Ashtadravya Maha Ganapathi Homam, Navakam Pooja, Panchagavya Abhishekam and Uchapooja designed to invoke the divine energy of Lord Ganesha for prosperity, health and the removal of obstacles. Special offerings like Sarppabali, Pongala and community Kanji Sadya are also conducted allowing devotees to actively participate in the spiritual ceremonies. Each ritual is performed under the guidance of experienced temple priests ensuring adherence to traditional customs and Vedic principles.
