Ashwathi Thirunal Thrikodiyettu Mahotsavam at Thirumanamboor Sree Bala Subrahmanya Swami Temple in Trivandrum is a spiritually vibrant and culturally rich annual festival dedicated to Lord Bala Subrahmanya, the divine son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi.
The temple known for its serene atmosphere and deep rooted traditions, becomes a center of devotion and celebration during this grand occasion, drawing devotees from nearby regions and beyond.
The festival begins with the sacred Thrikodiyettu symbolizing the commencement of the auspicious celebrations. Each day is marked by a series of traditional rituals including Ganapathi Homam, Usha Pooja, Ucha Pooja, Deeparadhana and Sree Bhoothabali performed with great devotion and precision. Special offerings such as Panchamritham, Pushpabhishekam and various abhishekams enhance the spiritual experience for devotees.
One of the most captivating highlights of the festival is the grand Kavadi procession where thousands of devotees carry beautifully decorated kavadis as an act of devotion and penance.
