ശ്രീ പത്മനാഭ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ 2026 അൽപശി മഹോത്സവം ഒക്ടോബർ 11 മുതൽ ഒക്ടോബർ 20 വരെ നടക്കും. തൃക്കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവത്തിൽ വിവിധ ആചാരങ്ങളും ഉത്സവശീവേലികളും സാംസ്കാരിക പരിപാടികളും നടക്കും. ഒക്ടോബർ 11, 2026 (കന്നി 25) ന് രാവിലെ 8.45നും 9.30നും മധ്യേ തൃക്കൊടിയേറ്റ് നടക്കും. തുടർന്ന് പത്ത് ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവാഘോഷങ്ങൾക്ക് തുടക്കമാകും. ഒക്ടോബർ 18ന് തുലാം 1 (1202 ME) വലിയ കാണിക്ക നടക്കും. ഒക്ടോബർ 19ന് തുലാം 2ന് പള്ളിവേട്ട നടക്കും. ഒക്ടോബർ 20ന് തുലാം 3ന് തിരുവാറാട്ട് നടക്കുന്നതോടെ അൽപശി ഉത്സവത്തിന് സമാപനമാകും. ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ വൈകിട്ട് 4.30നും രാത്രി 8.30നും ഉത്സവശീവേലി ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്. കൂടാതെ, ഉത്സവത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് വടക്കേനട, ശ്രീപാദം, തുലാഭാര മണ്ഡപം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ വിവിധ കലാപരിപാടികൾ അരങ്ങേറും. കിഴക്കേനടയിലെ നാടകശാലയിൽ ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ രാത്രി 10 മണി മുതൽ കഥകളി ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
Alpasi Festival 2026 | Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple Trivandrum
The Alpasi Utsavam is one of the important annual festivals celebrated at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The ten-day festival combines daily temple rituals, traditional offerings, processions, cultural programmes and special ceremonies. The festival will begin with the sacred Thrikkodiyettu ceremony on October 11, 2026, and will conclude with the Aarattu procession on October 20, 2026. During the festival days, Utsava Sreebali is conducted twice daily at 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM. Different ceremonial vahanams are used during the festival processions.
The celebrations begin with the sacred Kodiyettam ceremony, which marks the official commencement of the festival. Throughout the ten days, the temple witnesses special poojas, traditional rituals, Vedic chanting, cultural performances and grand processions accompanied by traditional temple instruments such as chenda, maddalam and nadaswaram. The festival also provides a vibrant setting for Kerala's traditional performing arts. Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Thiruvathira, classical music, devotional music, Sopana Sangeetham, Vedic chanting and other cultural programmes are conducted at different venues around the temple.

Thrikkodiyettu
Thrikkodiyettu marks the beginning of the Alpasi Festival. The sacred flag-hoisting ceremony will be held on October 11, 2026, between 8:45 AM and 9:30 AM. The ceremony officially marks the commencement of the ten-day festival celebrations at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.
Valiya Kanikka
Valiya Kanikka is an important ritual associated with the Alpasi Festival. It will be observed on October 18, 2026, corresponding to Thulam 1, 1202 ME.
Pallivetta
Pallivetta is one of the major highlights of the Alpasi Utsavam. The ritual is traditionally associated with the divine hunting expedition of the deity. The Pallivetta ceremony will be held on October 19, 2026, during the festival celebrations.
Aarattu at Shankhumukham Beach
The grand Aarattu procession will be held on October 20, 2026, marking the conclusion of the Alpasi Festival. The festival deities are taken in a ceremonial procession to Shankhumukham Beach for the sacred Aarattu ritual. The Aarattu procession is one of the most significant and visually spectacular traditions associated with the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple festivals.
Utsava Sreebali
Utsava Sreebali is conducted during the festival days at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. As part of the Alpasi Festival, the Utsava Sreebali is scheduled at 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM. The ceremonial processions around the temple are accompanied by traditional temple music and rituals, creating a devotional atmosphere for devotees.
Cultural Programmes
Various cultural programmes are conducted as part of the Alpasi Festival at different venues including Vadakke Nada, Sreepadam and Thulabharamandapam. The programmes include traditional Kerala performing arts, classical dance, devotional music, classical music, Sopana Sangeetham, Vedic chanting and other cultural events. Kathakali performances are also scheduled at the Kizhakke Nada Natakashala from 10:00 PM onwards during the festival days.
