The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, a fierce and powerful form of Divine Mother Parvati, venerated here to seek protection, strength, and prosperity. She is believed to vanquish evil forces and bless devotees with courage and well being. The shrine features traditional Kerala style architecture, including a sloping tiled roof and wooden carvings, and follows regular rituals such as abhishekam (sacred bathing of the idol), pushpanjali (flower offerings), and deepa aradhana (lamp ceremonies). Though smaller compared to major temples, it serves as a vital spiritual hub for the local community hosting daily worship, family ceremonies, and serving as a peaceful retreat for personal devotion
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Annual Festival
This traditional festival dramatizes the cosmic battle between Goddess Bhadrakali and the demon Darika. It features folk style enactments, vibrant rituals, elaborate kalams (ritual floor drawings), and devotional music performed over several days drawing devotees from nearby villages.
Thookam / Thookkavilakku Offering
The temple observes a Thookam style ritual, where devotees carry lamps and offerings including earthen pots or other ritualistic items honoring the Devi. Though smaller in scale, this ceremony reflects traditional Bhadrakali worship common in the region.
