Lord Subramanya, the son of the divine couple Shiva and Parvati, was born to vanquish the demon Tarakasura. Enshrined as the central deity of the Peringavoor Sree Bala Subrahmanya Swami Temple, Lord Subramanya is venerated as the god of war and victory.

In addition to Lord Subramanya, the temple also worships several other deities, including Lord Shiva, Lord Ganapathy, Sastha, Goddess Yakshi Amma, Naga Raja, Sreekrishnan, and Brahma Rakshas.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Aaratu Kaavadi Mahotsavam
The Aaratu Kaavadi Mahotsavam is a vibrant 10 day festival that begins with Kodiyettam and culminates with Kaavadi and Arattu. Central to the celebration is the Kavadi Aattam, a ritual dance where devotees carry elaborate Kavadis. The festival features daily Samoohasadya in the afternoon, with Pongala a special offering prepared by female devotees. Agnikavadi, a significant ritual involving fire offerings, highlights the spiritual intensity of the festival.
Thaipooyam
Thaipooyam is celebrated with great fervor and devotion, marking the culmination of the Thaipooyam festival dedicated to Lord Murugan. The event is highlighted by vibrant processions, including Kavadi carrying and ceremonial dances. Devotees offer special prayers, perform rituals, and partake in community feasts, all while celebrating the divine blessings and protection of Lord Murugan.
