The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, revered here as a potent embodiment of divine strength and protection. Believed to have been under the patronage of the “Thampuran” (local ruler), the sanctuary follows Kerala temple architecture with a simple sanctum and traditional rituals. Devotees regularly perform abhishekam (ritual bathing), pushpanjali (flower offerings), and deepa aradhana (lamp worship). It operates as a significant spiritual hub in the community, drawing worshippers who seek solace, courage, and blessings from the Mother Goddess .
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Navaratri Pooja
Navaratri is one of the most significant festivals observed at the temple, lasting for nine days. It is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Bhadrakali and her various forms. During this festival, the temple is adorned with colorful decorations, and special rituals and prayers are performed daily.
Kumbha Bharani / Temple Utsavam
Though specific records are limited, temples of this kind typically observe an annual utsavam in Kumbham (February–March) on the Bharani star day marked by special pujas, processions, communal feasts, and temple rituals in honor of the Devi.
