Thrikkodiyettu Maholsavam
The festival begins with Ganapathi Homam, invoking the blessings of Lord Ganapathi for removing obstacles. It includes Annadanam, a communal meal offered to devotees, and Umamaheswara Pooja, honoring the divine couple Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The celebrations feature Mahamrityunjaya Homam for health and protection, Arattu, and Pallivetta.
Mandalakalam
Karkkidaka Vavu Bali Tharppanam is a significant ritual performed during the Karkkidaka month (July-August) on the day of Vavu. Devotees offer tarpanam to their ancestors to seek their blessings and ensure their peace in the afterlife. This ritual is believed to cleanse the devotees of ancestral debts and bring spiritual benefits.
