Nilathil Poru
The Nilathil Poru is a significant ritualistic event observed at the Chimmindi Sree Neelakesi Temple in Kunnathukal, Trivandrum, as part of its annual festival. This event takes place following the Paranettu, which occurs on the eighth day of the festival at 10 PM and symbolizes the celestial battle between Goddess Bhadrakali and the demon Daruka in the sky. The next day, the battle descends to the ground, culminating in Nilathil Poru, representing the terrestrial combat where Goddess Bhadrakali ultimately defeats and kills Daruka.
Pongala
At the Chimmindi Sree Neelakesi Temple in Kunnathukal, Trivandrum, devotees offer Pongala to Goddess Bhadrakali as a special form of worship. This ritual involves preparing a sweet dish made of rice, jaggery, and coconut in earthen pots, symbolizing devotion and seeking the blessings of the goddess for prosperity and well-being.
