This festival is celebrated with great devotion, blending spiritual rituals with cultural heritage and showcases the rich traditions associated with Goddess Bhadrakali who is worshipped as the powerful protector and benevolent mother of her devotees.
The festival spans several days and begins with elaborate rituals that include Ganapathi Homam, Nirmalyadarshanam and special poojas dedicated to the Goddess, invoking her blessings for prosperity, protection and well being. Nagapooja and other unique offerings are performed to honor the serpent deities and other divine manifestations connected to the temple. The atmosphere is heightened by the rhythmic beats of Kalampattu and other traditional devotional music which create an aura of spiritual energy and devotion throughout the temple premises.
Devotional recitations such as the Narayaneeya Parayanam are conducted with precision allowing devotees to immerse themselves in prayer and meditation. The evenings are marked by cultural performances that include folk arts, traditional dances and musical ensembles bringing together the local community in celebration. One of the festival highlights is the Panchari Melam, a grand percussion performance accompanied by traditional instruments which fills the temple and surrounding areas with vibrant energy.
