2026 മെയ് 10ന് തൃശൂരിലെ പരക്കോട്ടുകാവ് ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ താലപ്പൊലി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇതിൽ ഭംഗിയാർന്ന പരേഡുകൾ, പഞ്ചവാദ്യം, കുടമാട്ടം, അതിശയകരമായ വെടിക്കെട്ട് എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

Thalappoli at Parakkottukavu Devi Temple, Thrissur is one of the most vibrant and culturally significant festivals in Kerala, showcasing the rich traditions of the region. Celebrated with immense devotion and grandeur, this festival is a colorful expression of faith, community and heritage.
The temple dedicated to the Goddess residing in Parakkottukavu becomes the center of spiritual and cultural activities attracting devotees from across the district and neighboring areas.
The festival is marked by elaborate processions known as Ezhunnallippu where the deity is taken out amidst devotional music, traditional drums and the resounding rhythm of Panchavadyam—a unique ensemble of Kerala’s traditional percussion and wind instruments. Young women and girls participate in the festival by carrying decorated lamps and offering prayers forming a spectacular procession that symbolizes prosperity, devotion and communal harmony.
Another highlight of the celebration is Kudamattam, a colorful and energetic ritual where participants exchange ornate umbrellas in a rhythmic display accompanied by traditional percussion. This visually striking ritual draws large crowds and adds to the festive spirit. The temple grounds are also filled with devotional singing, folk art performances and cultural exhibitions that reflect the rural traditions of Kerala.
It fosters unity, strengthens cultural identity and preserves age old rituals that have been handed down through generations. The festival also features spectacular fireworks that illuminate the night sky creating unforgettable memories for devotees and visitors alike.
