The temple’s Prathishta Dinam is one of its most important events. It is observed annually on Rohini Nakshatra in the Malayalam month of Makaram (which usually falls in January–February). This auspicious day marks the anniversary of the installation of the temple deity. It is believed that on this day, divine energy is at its peak, making it especially powerful for prayers and rituals. Devotees from the surrounding villages and distant areas visit to seek blessings for prosperity, protection, and spiritual upliftment.
Prathishta Dinam – Rohini Nakshatra in Makaram
On Prathishta Dinam, the temple comes alive with special pujas, homams, and abhishekams. Offerings may include nivedyam, deepam, and ritual processions accompanied by traditional percussion like chenda melam. In addition to this main festival, the temple observes other auspicious days linked to local traditions and important Hindu calendar events.
The presiding deity, often referred to as the Daivam of the Kizhakkedath family or region, is considered a guardian spirit of the land.
