Kozhimamparambu Pooram is one of the most vibrant and culturally significant temple festivals in Palakkad, Kerala celebrated with deep devotion and grandeur at Sree Kozhimamparambu Bhagavathi Temple.
This festival honors Goddess Bhagavathi and is a vivid expression of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, blending age old rituals, traditional art forms and community celebrations into a spectacular event.
The temple and its surroundings come alive with colorful decorations, illuminating lamps and the rhythmic sounds of traditional percussion ensembles known as chenda melam. Elephants adorned with ornate nettipattam, bells and decorative ornaments form the centerpiece of the festival leading grand processions through the village. The festival also features Thira performances, a ritualistic dance form dedicated to the deity and other folk art presentations that reflect the local traditions and spiritual devotion of the community.
