The Navikaranam Kalasam 2026 at Pathanapuram Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple, located in Thanissery near Irinjalakuda, Kerala is one of the most significant and sacred temple events in the region. This festival marks the meticulous renovation and reconsecration of the temple’s main sanctum, the Sreekovil and the sacred idol of Lord Padmanabha.
The Navikaranam Kalasam is conducted after extensive renovation works which include the purification and restoration of the deity, the surrounding temple structures and the Kalasam on top of the sanctum.
The festival is conducted in strict adherence to the Vedic scriptures and temple traditions with chief Tantris overseeing all ceremonies. The event includes a series of homams, abhishekams, Kalasa poojas and Prathishta ceremonies that aim to restore and enhance the spiritual energy of the temple.
Devotees have the opportunity to offer prayers contribute to the ritual arrangements and receive blessings from the deity during these auspicious days.
Alongside the sacred rituals, the Navikaranam Kalasam also features a rich lineup of cultural programs including traditional art forms like Thiruvathira Kali, Ottan Thullal, Nangyar Koothu, classical music and dance performances by local and renowned artists.
