Medabharani Velaghosham at Namborkkavu Bhagavathy Temple, Thrissur is one of the most vibrant and spiritually significant festivals celebrated in Kerala. This annual temple festival honors the divine presence of Bhagavathy, the presiding goddess of the temple and is marked by an elaborate blend of devotion, traditional rituals and cultural performances.

The festival begins with the ritualistic preparations of the deity and the temple premises including Nirmalyadarshanam, special poojas and sacred homams. The temple comes alive with the rhythmic beats of Panchavadyam and Thayambaka which are traditional Kerala percussion ensembles performed by highly skilled artists. These performances create an energetic and devotional ambience drawing spectators into a state of spiritual reverence and celebration.
A major highlight of the festival is the grand Ezhunnallippu, or ceremonial procession of the deity accompanied by beautifully adorned elephants, traditional percussion and vibrant folk art performances.
