Thira Vellattu festival
The shrine is renowned for its annual Thira Vellattu festival held during the Kumbha Masam (February 13 to 15) and the Kalamezhuthum Pattum celebrated on Mithunam.These festivals, steeped in tradition, feature elaborate rituals and vibrant celebrations, including songs extolling the deities revered in the temple. The Thira Vellattu festival spans three days, commencing on the final day of the Makaram month, typically observed on February 13, 14, and 15, featuring the creation of a grand kolam depicting Vishnumaya Swamy and other divine manifestations.
Roopakkalam ritual
During the Roopakkalam ritual, intricate designs of Vishnu Maya and associated deities are meticulously drawn on the temple floor using natural powders. The festival also features captivating performances by oracles and dazzling fireworks displays. Additionally, traditional art forms like Thira, sacred processions, and temple rituals add to the festive fervor.
