The sanctum sanctorum (Sreekovil) houses the main deity of Lord Vishnu, while the temple complex includes other shrines dedicated to different deities, a flagpole (dhwajastambha), and a sacred pond.

Vishu Pooram
The annual Vishu Pooram festival at Pazhampuzha Sree Mahavishnu Temple in Chittilappilly, Thrissur, is a grand celebration marked by vibrant traditions and rituals. The festival culminates with the Arattu procession, during which the idol of Lord Vishnu is ceremoniously taken for a sacred bath in a nearby temple pond or river, symbolizing purification and renewal. Following the Arattu, the Pallivetta ceremony is conducted, where the deity is taken out in procession on a caparisoned elephant, amidst chanting of hymns and the beats of traditional percussion instruments, captivating devotees with its spiritual fervor and cultural significance.
Anayoottu
Anayoottu (feeding of elephants) and Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam (a fire ritual with eight sacred substances) are performed with reverence and devotion. The Anayoottu ceremony involves feeding elephants as a form of worship Additionally, the Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, with its intricate rituals and offerings, seeks the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the removal of obstacles and the success of endeavors, enriching the spiritual atmosphere of the temple.
