Devotees worship Goddess Karineeli in temples dedicated to her, where rituals and offerings are made to seek her blessings and protection. She is particularly revered in regions of Kerala where communities believe in her divine powers.
Various festivals are celebrated at the Kurukkapparambil Karineeli Bhagavathi Temple throughout the year. These festivals often include traditional rituals, music, dance performances, and processions.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Devi Mahatmya Parayanam
Trayangam is a method in which we need to chant three prayers – Devi Kavacham, Argala Stotram and Devi Keelakam followed by Navakshari Mantram. Navangam is a method for which nine prayers are recited prior of starting reading the book.
Thrikkarthika
The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm by lighting rows of oil lamps (known as "Thrikkarthika Vilakku" or "Karthika Deepam") in homes, temples, and public places. The lighting of lamps symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and is considered auspicious.
