The main deities worshipped here are Lord Mahaganapathi and Vettekkaran. Vettaikaran Pattu is a significant ritual, and on the first Friday of every Malayalam month, food is distributed to devotees after the Nivedyam.

The temple performs Mahaganapathi Homam for removing obstacles, Mangalya Pooja for resolving marriage-related issues, and Santhana Pooja for children and fulfillment of desires.

Vinayaka Chathurthi in the Malayalam month of Chingam is celebrated as a grand festival at Kakkad Mahaganapathy Temple. On this auspicious day, the Mahaganapathy Homam is performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Devotees gather in large numbers to participate in the rituals and receive prasadam.
Prathishta Dinam
Prathishta Day (Prathishta Dinam) of Kakkad Mahaganapathy Temple is celebrated annually with great devotion. It falls on the Aswathi Nakshathra in the Malayalam month of Kumbham. Special rituals, offerings, and prayers are conducted on this day to commemorate the installation of the deities.
