The principal deity, Ruthiramala Bagavathi, is a fierce and powerful form of the mother goddess, revered for her protective and benevolent nature. Devotees seek her blessings for courage, protection, and prosperity.
According to legend, the idol of Lord Dhanwandhari at this temple was consecrated around 2125 years ago, following a divine revelation experienced by a passing saint near a pond in the vicinity. Recognizing the presence of divine energy, the saint performed Vedic rituals and consecrated the idol of Lord Dhanwandhari, which continues to be worshipped at the temple to this day.
