Uchabali Mahotsavam 2026 at Mannady Mudipura Devi Temple, Pathanamthitta is a sacred and culturally vibrant festival celebrated with deep devotion and traditional grandeur. The temple, known for its historic significance and strong spiritual heritage becomes a center of faith and festivity during this auspicious occasion.
Devotees from nearby villages and distant places gather to participate in the rituals and seek the blessings of the presiding Goddess.
The festival begins with the ceremonial flag hoisting marking the commencement of the celebrations. Special poojas, including Usha Pooja, Uchabali and various traditional temple rites, are performed with strict adherence to age old customs. The Uchabali ritual holds special importance symbolizing offerings made to the deity for prosperity, protection and well being of devotees.
One of the most significant highlights of the festival is the Thirumudi Ezhunnallathu, a grand ceremonial procession in which the sacred idol is taken in reverence with traditional musical accompaniments, Thalappoli, Muthukuda and temple percussion ensembles. The atmosphere is filled with devotional fervor as rhythmic drumbeats and temple instruments echo through the surroundings.
The festival also showcases Kerala’s rich artistic heritage through classical dance performances such as Bharatanatyam, Ottanthullal and traditional music concerts including Nadhaswaram recitals and special Thavil performances.
