Parayeduppu Mahotsavam at Sree Thekkan Kodungallur Devi Temple, Pathanamthitta is one of the most revered and vibrant temple festivals in Kerala celebrated with immense devotion and grandeur.
This festival marks an important ritualistic tradition in the temple calendar drawing devotees from across the region to witness and participate in the spiritual festivities.
The temple dedicated to the Goddess becomes a hub of divine energy as priests perform sacred rituals elaborate poojas, and ceremonial processions invoking the blessings of the deity.
The festival begins with the traditional Parayeduppu, a ritual procession where the deity is taken out from the sanctum sanctorum amidst chanting of hymns, drum beats and devotional music. This procession symbolizes the Goddess visiting her devotees and blessing the community fostering a sense of unity and spiritual harmony.
