The Parayezhunnallath Mahotsavam is one of the most celebrated festivals in Pathanamthitta district held annually at the historic Punthalaveettil Devi Temple.The festival is deeply rooted in the traditions of the region showcasing the devotion, rituals and vibrant temple culture of Kerala.
Each day of the Mahotsavam features specific rituals conducted in different parts of the Pazhakulam area, reflecting a unique blend of religious customs and community participation. The festival begins with special poojas and offerings to the goddess accompanied by traditional music and devotional chants. As the days progress, various processions take place with the deity being carried in a grand procession to different localities symbolizing the goddess’s blessings reaching every devotee in the region.
