Padinjattethil Kshethrotsavam is one of the most vibrant and spiritually significant celebrations held at the revered Padinjattethil Shakthi Sanketham in Pathanamthitta. Dedicated to the divine presence of the Bhagavathi, the festival reflects the deep rooted traditions, cultural heritage and devotional spirit of the local community.
Every year, devotees gather in large numbers to seek blessings and take part in the sacred rituals that have been preserved and practiced for generations.
The festival is marked by a series of elaborate poojas and ceremonies conducted strictly in accordance with traditional tantric practices. The temple comes alive with rituals such as Ganapathi Homam, Kalashabhishekam, Lalitha Sahasranama chanting and Bhagavathi Seva, each carrying profound spiritual significance. The sacred atmosphere is further enriched by the rhythmic chanting of hymns and the fragrance of incense creating an experience that deeply connects devotees with the divine.
One of the major highlights of the festival is the grand Ezhunnallathu where the deity is ceremoniously taken out in a vibrant procession accompanied by traditional music and devotional fervor. The procession along with ritualistic performances like Padayani, showcases Kerala’s rich artistic and cultural traditions. Devotees actively participate in offerings such as Thalappoli symbolizing devotion and gratitude.
The temple premises are beautifully illuminated during the festival especially during Deeparadhana, creating a divine and mesmerizing ambiance. Annadanam is another important aspect of the celebration reflecting the spirit of sharing and unity among devotees.
