The Rohini Thirunal Mahotsavam 2026 is one of the most sacred and eagerly awaited festivals celebrated at the Bhattathrikovil Sree Mahadevar Temple located in Chathannuppuzha, Adoor, Pathanamthitta.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the festival begins with early morning rituals invoking the blessings of the deity through various poojas and offerings.
A key highlight of the celebrations is the Sree Bhoothabali, a sacred ritual offering to the divine attendants of Lord Shiva. Devotees also take part in the Kottippadi Seva, an elaborate ceremonial worship conducted with utmost devotion and adherence to traditional rituals. The spiritual festivities reach their peak during the Ezhunnallathu, a grand procession where the deity is taken out of the sanctum sanctorum amidst the rhythmic beats of traditional percussion instruments, chants and devotional hymns.
