The grand highlight of this celebration is the Adoor Gajamela set for January 28, 2026 which stands out as one of the most spectacular elephant pageants in the region. On this day, nine elaborately adorned elephants resplendent with traditional Kerala caparisons, parasols and ornamental regalia parade majestically in procession, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional percussion ensembles like Panchavadyam. The procession is not only a visual feast but also a cultural cornerstone of the festival, symbolizing grandeur, devotion and the deep reverence Kerala society holds for elephants in religious celebrations.
