The festival includes Thrikkodiyettu, Pallivetta and Arattu, along with special poojas and Deeparadhana. Ayilyam Pooja
Ayilyam Pooja is held in the Thulam month with great reverence. This special pooja is dedicated to the serpent deities Nagaraja and Nagayakshi and is celebrated on Ayilyam day. The main offering during the festival is Noorum Palum, a traditional ritual of offering a mixture of rice and milk, performed with much pomp and splendor to honor the serpent gods and seek their blessings for protection and prosperity.
