The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Navaratri
Navaratri at Puthenkavil Bhagavathy Temple, the celebrations begin with Pooja Veyppu, marking the ceremonial start of the festival. Vidyarambham, the sacred initiation into learning for children, is performed with great devotion on Vijayadashami day. Bhagavatha Parayanam, the recitation of the Bhagavatham, is also conducted throughout the festival days, invoking the divine presence and blessings of the goddess.
Vinayaka Chathurthi
Vinayaka Chathurthi is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Chingam with great devotion. A special ritual called Ashta Dravya Mahaganapathy Homam is performed, where eight sacred items are offered into the fire to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganapathy for removing obstacles and ensuring prosperity. Devotees participate in large numbers, seeking the divine grace of the deity.
