Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is renowned for its serene ambiance, with the deity depicted in a pleasant mood alongside his consort Parvati.
Pandalam, famed as the hometown of Lord Ayyappan, is just 3 km away from the temple. Notably, the temple's natural procession route around the sanctum, with the river gently touching its feet, evokes a sense of divinity akin to the sacred Ganges flowing from Lord Shiva's hair.
