Access to the main shrine involves climbing steps, with the Naga shrine positioned midway. The Naga Pratishta, especially on Ayilyam nakshatra days in every Malayalam month, garners special reverence.
Prasadam in the temple primarily consists of a mixture comprising Aval (beaten rice), malar (puffed rice), banana, and jaggery, symbolizing the blessings of the Goddess.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Vidyarambham
During Vidyarambham, children are introduced to the world of letters and numbers by a learned person, typically a priest or a guru. The child sits on the lap of the guru, who then guides the child's hand to write their first letters or syllables on a bed of rice or sand.
Thrikarthika
Thrikarthika, people light rows of oil lamps (known as Deepams) around their homes and in temples to honor Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Kartikeya. The festival commemorates the divine bond between the siblings and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.
