താലപ്പൊലി മഹോത്സവം 2026 ശ്രീ ചിറക്കാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം പാലക്കാട് | Thalappoli Mahotsavam 2026 Sri Chirakkekavu Bhagavati Temple Palakkad
The Thalappoli Mahotsavam at Sri Chirakkekavu Bhagavati Temple in Palakkad is one of the most vibrant and culturally rich festivals in the region celebrated annually with devotion, grandeur and community participation.
The festival is dedicated to Bhagavati, the divine goddess of the temple, who is revered as the granter of prosperity, protection and well being. The celebration begins with traditional rituals performed under the guidance of the temple’s chief priest ensuring that every ceremony follows the sacred customs and traditions of Kerala temple worship. Special offerings including Navakam, Panchagavya and floral tributes are made to honor the goddess and seek her blessings for devotees and their families.
A highlight of the festival is the Thalappoli procession where women carry beautifully decorated plates with lamps, flowers and rice symbolizing auspiciousness and prosperity. The festival also features a series of traditional performances such as Koothu, Guruthi, Thayambaka and Panchavadyam showcasing Kerala’s rich performing arts heritage. Each performance is executed by skilled artists who bring the stories of mythology, devotion and local culture to life with rhythm, music and vibrant costumes.
The evenings are marked by Deepa Aradhana, a devotional lamp ceremony which illuminates the temple premises with thousands of flickering lights creating a mesmerizing spiritual atmosphere. Visitors can also witness cultural programs, musical ensembles and community feasts making the festival an inclusive and joyous occasion.
